Q: Do you rent Jet Skis?
A: No we do not. You might try Dana Point Jet Ski, located here in Dana Point Harbor.
Q: Do you rent large (30 feet +) motor yachts that I can drive myself?
A: Not at this time. Due in large part to the liability insurance required very few, if any, companies in the southern California area allow you to take larger power boats by yourself. However, we do offer various cruises aboard motor yachts w/ our licensed Captain and crew. Click here for information about crewed motor yacht charters.
Q: Are all of your charters private? What public tours (where I can join other groups of people) do you offer?
A: Dana Island Yachts offers private, customized charter year-round. During the months of January through March we offer "public" whale watching tours. During whale watching we take sign-ups and you are not required to reserve the entire boat.
Q: Do you provide services to scatter ashes at sea?
A: We most certainly do! Scattering ashes at sea has become more popular over the years and we offer a variety of boats to choose from. Please visit our burial at sea page for more information and prices.
Q: Where do you charters depart from? Where do the boats go?
A: The majority of charters depart from Dana Point Harbor. Upon request, some charters can be arranged to depart/return from another marina such as Newport.
During your charter the yacht will typically exit Dana Point Harbor and cruise the open ocean. How far out and where you go will depend on the itinerary. Most charters occur only a few miles off the coast. Some, like sportfishing, may require the boat to go further offshore.
