We understand that this can be a difficult time and how important the final farewell is to surviving family & friends. As a California licensed Cremated Remains Disposer, Dana Island Yachts provides the opportunity to disperse ashes at sea off of the beautiful southern Orange County coast, from the peace and comfort of a private yacht.

We have the vessel to make this a pleasant and dignified experience. Our yachts are Coast Guard certified and are operated by a professional crew.

Scatterings typically occur off the coast of Dana Point/south Laguna within a 2-hour time frame and will be a minimum of 500 yards offshore as required by law. However we can accommodate custom location requests such as San Clemente, north Laguna, Newport, or even Catalina Island. Please be aware that custom locations may require a longer charter time and therefore a higher cost may apply.

A personalized certificate containing the date and GPS coordinates of the memorial will be provided at no additional cost. On request we can refer you to a non-denominational ordained minister (minister will charge additional fee). For optimal ocean conditions we highly recommend a morning departure.

On the day of the charter you will need to have the 'Application and Permit for Disposition of Human Remains' from the local registrar of births and deaths. If the cremation was done in California it should have been provided with the ashes. Otherwise, you'll need to contact the Orange County Health Care Agency at 714-480-6700 to apply for the burial permit.
